1. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the Service:
- Account information: your name, email address, and hashed password when you register
- Videos: the video files you upload, along with titles, descriptions, and thumbnails you provide
- View data: anonymous view counts and, for logged-in viewers, their name and email so creators can see who watched
- Usage data: basic server logs (IP address, request timestamps) for security and debugging — retained for 30 days
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Service (hosting your videos, delivering them to viewers)
- To send transactional emails: email verification codes, password resets, and view notifications
- To notify you when someone watches your video
- To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Use
We do not sell your data. We do not use your content for advertising. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as required by law.
3. Video Storage and Deletion
Your videos are stored on our servers and are accessible only via the unique share link you control. When you delete a video, it is permanently and immediately removed from our servers — there is no archive or backup copy retained. You can delete any video at any time from your dashboard.
4. Cookies and Sessions
We use a single secure, HTTP-only authentication cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.
5. Email Communications
We send emails only for account activity: email verification, password resets, and notifications that your video was viewed. You will not receive marketing emails. Transactional emails are sent via Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), our email delivery provider.
6. Data Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no system is completely immune to breaches.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Download copies of your videos at any time

8. Children
Mindcast is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We will note the date of the last update at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
